Conductor Dong-Hyuk Kim earned his degrees from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”and Hochschule für Musik Weimar “ Franz Liszt” Germany in Conducting major by Prof. GMD. Günter Blumhagen, Prof. Gert Bahner, Prof. Gunter Kahlert, and Prof. GMD. Nicolas Pasquet.
He made his conducting dubut with the Hochschulorchester and Chor Leipzig in Leipzig in 1993. Thereafter, he has conducted many European Symphony Orchestras in German, Italy, Czechoslovakia, and Russia, such as Jenaer Philharmoniker, Westsächsische Philharmonie, Philharmonia Moldova, Vladivostok Symphony Orchestra, and Marienbad Symphony Orchestra. He received additional training in Conducting from Sir Colin Davis, Helmuth Rilling, Claus Peter Flor, Donato Renzerti, George Alexander Albrecht through attending their master classes regularly.
After he came back to Korea, he taught in An-Yang Univ., Presbyterian College and Theology Seminary, Sung-sin women's Univ. Yonsei Univ., Kon-Kuk Univ., Sung-Kyul Univ., and Hyup-Sung Univ. In addition, he was a professor of Se-Jong University. He has conducted over 200 Concerts and Operas with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Ulsan Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul national Symphony Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra. Seoul-Philharmonic, Goyang Philharmonic Orchestra, Samsung Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul National Univ. Medical Orchestra, Korea Univ. Orchestra, Yonsei Univ. Amateur Orchestra, "Euphonia", Korea Univ. Medical Orchestra, Ansan Performing Art Company Choir, Bucheon Philharmonic Chorus, etc.
