Łukasz Borowicz was born in 1977 in Warsaw and studied with Bogusław Madey at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw where he completed his PhD studies in conductorship with Antoni Wit. He received four prizes at international conductor’s competitions.
He made his debut in the Polish National Opera with Don Giovanni, has conducted such outstanding orchestras as the Bamberger Symphoniker, Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Ukrainian National Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestra of Cyprus, I Pomeriggi Musicali (Milano), major Polish symphony orchestras.
He has recently performed in Konzerthaus Berlin, Palace of Arts (Budapest), La Monnaie, Teatro dal Verme and The Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
In 2006 Łukasz Borowicz was appointed the First Guest Conductor of Poznan Philharmonic, where he conducted Sibelius Violin concerto with Ida Haendel.
He inaugurated his first concert season with Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducting the concert version of Verdi's Falstaff. Spring 2008 he performed with his orchestra Cherubini's Lodoiska during the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival (under the supervision of Christa Ludwig), and Schumann's complete Symphonies.
